America was never built all at once.

It was built a little at a time — by people who made things, grew things, explored new country, worked with their hands, defended what mattered and kept pushing toward whatever was over the next hill.

The America 250 Bi-and-a-Half Collection is our way of celebrating that story.

For America’s 250th birthday, Woody Brand Knives is creating 250 one-of-a-kind handmade knives — five original designs, traveling to new homes across all 50 states.

Each design takes its inspiration from a different piece of the American experience. The frontier. The wilderness. The people and places that became legends. The stories we inherited and the ones we’re still writing.

And every knife will be made the Woody way — one at a time, by hand, in our Easley, South Carolina shop.

No two will be exactly alike.

Different handle materials. Different character. Different little decisions made at the bench as each knife comes together. Every one will be individually numbered and accompanied by its own Certificate of Authenticity.

Some are inspired by our Founding Fathers and Colonial days. Some reach back toward the frontier. Some draw from the landscape. Some tip their hat to distinctly American characters and traditions.

Together, they make up one collection — and one very Woody celebration of 250 years of America.

Follow Them Across America

There's another part of this project we especially love.

We want to see where these knives end up.

As the 250 knives find their owners, we'll be following their journey across the country — state by state — with the goal of putting an America 250 Woody knife in all 50 states.

Maybe one ends up in a hunting camp in Montana.

Another on a workbench in Wisconsin.

One gets carried through the Carolina woods.

Another gets handed down someday to somebody who isn't even born yet.

That's the part we can't make in the Woody Shop.
